A leading parcel delivery firm is celebrating after topping a major customer satisfaction study.

Parcel delivery firm FedEx has topped a major poll analysing customer satisfaction.

The courier firm, which delivers to a number of countries including the UK, was ranked number one in the express delivery industry category of the University of Michigan's American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI).

In addition, it also finished first out of the 81 companies across a number of sectors rated on the issue during the first quarter of 2009.

Cary Pappas, president of FedEx Customer Information Services, said the firm believes there is a "crucial link" between the satisfaction of both staff and clients.

He added that the rating is "is a testament to all the outstanding FedEx team members who are committed to making every FedEx experience outstanding".

FedEx recently acted as a leading sponsor for the French Open tennis tournament, which saw the firm handle the transportation of goods to and from the competition.
