FedEx has appeared in a list of the best IT employers to work for.FedEx may be best-known for its parcel delivery business, but it has also been named as one of the best places to work in information technology, according to Computerworld. The parcel delivery company appeared at number 71 in the website's 100 Best Places to Work in IT 2010 list, citing the example of FedEx employee Barbara McClatchey, who began her career there by moving packages on the night shift. However, some 29 years later she serves as the Memphis-based firm's senior systems analyst, having moved from shipping to the IT department in the late 1980s.She took advantage of the support and training offered by the company to learn a range of new technologies and is currently working on a language translation software project to help FedEx's global business."The organisations that made this year's Best Places to Work list sustain a dynamic work environment in which IT professionals keep their hands on the latest technologies and work on projects that are business critical," commented Scot Finnie, editor-in-chief of Computerworld.Posted by Sarah Gower.Article Added: 22/06/2010 16:39:49
