Parcel delivery firm FedEx reveals eco van plan.Parcel delivery firm FedEx is to begin carrying out urban deliveries in eco-friendly electric vans as part of its commitment to eco delivery, it has been announced.Initially, the company will trial the new trucks in Los Angeles and the surrounding area. UK parcel delivery service users in the capital could have already benefited from electric trucks, as some are already in use in London.FedEx is known for its focus on eco parcel delivery. It also runs electric vans in Paris and part of its global fleet is made up of hybrid or part-hybrid cars."Electric trucks are still in their infancy, but we think they have a bright future in the mix of alternative energy vehicles," said vice president of environmental affairs and sustainability Mitch Jackson.Parcel delivery firm UPS also recently announced it is to run electric delivery trucks in a number of US cities, including Houston, New York, Boston, Austin and Philadelphia.
