Fed Ex has thrown its support behind campaigns to improve road safety, following new research into the behaviour of young motorists.Fed Ex has underlined the importance of educating drivers about road safety, following the results of a new poll commissioned by the courier services firm.Work to improve driving skills and road safety awareness through schemes such as Brake's 2young2die campaign has been welcomed by FedEx Express managing director of operations Will Martin.His comments follow research commissioned by Fed Ex and the road safety charity Brake, which indicated that many British youngsters are risking their own lives and those of other road users, such as courier services van drivers, at risk by failing to adhere to road laws.One in ten admit to overtaking another vehicle at speed, but without being able to see what's coming, while one in five have raced on a public road as either a passenger or a driver.Mr Martin said: "The results of this survey show the importance of educating young people on road safety and the consequences of their actions if they ignore the risks of speeding and do not pay full attention while driving."The work that Brake does is critical to reducing the number of deaths on the UK roads each year."Posted by Tom SandsArticle Added: 30/06/2010 09:41:46
