A new Facebook integrated messenger service could be a one-stop shop for communications.Facebook's integrated messenger system could become the "primary portal of choice" for both individuals and business users, according to social media expert Mari Smith. She explained that Facebook Messages may see the social network be a one-stop shop for users wanting to communicate via email, instant messaging, SMS and even voice. Ms Smith, the co-author of Facebook Marketing: An Hour A Day, pointed out that this development will be crucial for businesses, such as those relying on international package delivery and courier services. "Businesses need to pay close attention to see how they can tap this new layer of complexity in reaching their consumers," she said. The expert remarked that Facebook has opened up a new context in which people can share information, "which is prime to be mined for advertisers". Her comments come off the back of the launch of Facebook's integrated messaging service, which will see @facebook.com email addresses. Posted by Tom Sands Article Added: 19/11/2010 16:14:38
