Facebook Deals has been launched by the social network site.
After Facebook Places was started to inform users of where there nearest UPS or DHL office was to send a parcel delivery, the social networking sites has unveiled a new app to let people in on some top deals.
Yet to include any courier delivery firms, Facebook Deals is an app that lets iPhone users enjoy discounts and special offers at local businesses - restaurants, shops and even universities.
Launching the app on the Facebook blog, Jon Fougner, a principal on Facebook's product marketing team, explained that there are around 20 businesses so far signed up, including McDonalds, Gap and Starbucks.
Many more companies are planning to join the scheme, he said, adding that the US service will be branching out into other countries shortly.
"We hope that these and other deals will help you and your friends find special offers as you check in at your favourite locations," commented Mr Fougner.
Erick Tseng, head of mobile products at Facebook, recently told its blog readers that Facebook is now accessed by around 200 million people worldwide from mobile phones.
