Enfield Town Post Office has reopened after a temporary sub postmaster was found.

Subhash Patel will be in charge of the branch on Church Street for the time being, the Enfield Independent reported.

The outlet suddenly closed its doors early last month, leaving many residents having to use alternative parcel delivery providers.

Mark Rudling, of the Enfield Business and Retailers Association, told the newspaper that the reopening of the branch is good news for everybody in the town.

"It's great news – shops and the market have all said they noticed a real difference in the numbers of people when the post office was closed," he added.

Parcel delivery services in the Lincolnshire village of Aslackby have returned to normal following minor disruptions last year, The Local reported.

A spokesman told the newspaper that residents in the area are happy with the services provided and that all issues have been addressed.
