A football from the World Cup is breaking records on eBay.One lucky bidder will have a parcel delivery winging its way to them at 17:00 BST today containing one of the official match balls used in the World Cup final between Spain and the Netherlands. The Jo'bulani ball has so far gone over the £50,000 mark and, perhaps slightly unfairly given the price tag, parcel delivery is the responsibility of the buyer. All proceeds from the sale go to Nelson Mandela Charities that support education and Aids programmes for children in Africa. The Jo'bulani ball caused controversy at the World Cup in South Africa, with some goalkeepers and free-kick specialists in particular complaining that it behaved like beach ball and could be controlled in the air properly. Though it is unclear whether this was the ball that Andres Iniesta buried in the back of the Dutch net to see Spain lift the coveted trophy, bidding for this piece of World Cup history will end today (July 16th) at 17:00 BST and its price is sure to go on rising.
