An Essex couple has saved thousands on their wedding by shopping on eBay.

Most people are familiar with the notion of ordering parcel deliveries from eBay, but what about an entire wedding? One Essex couple have done just that and secured their happy day for a grand total of £1,800.

Kevin Wilsher and Lisa Vaughan spent two months buying clothing, rings, table decorations banner and confetti from the web, the Essex Echo reports.

Ms Vaughan, who paid just £89 for her wedding dress, told the newspaper: "I have got everything I have ever wanted, and without eBay it would not have been possible, we just would not have had the money to do all this.

"I would say to anyone, before they look in the shops at wedding things, to make sure they look on eBay."

According to a recent story in the National Post, an Ontario-based buyer of wedding supplies has received eBay Canada's Budget Buyer award for her savviness.
