eBay users 'can grow sales with Twitter'

eBay users 'can grow sales with Twitter'eBay users should start sharing items on Twitter.

eBay sellers who use delivery services can increase interest in products by using Twitter to advertise, it has been claimed.

Every time someone sees an item on eBay they should follow the drop-down box option to share the information, thereby helping other sellers, according to Danna Crawford writing in a blog post for practicalecommerce.com.

She explained that making full use of social media sites such as Twitter can significantly increase traffic to a seller's items.

One of the things she advocates is to spend time building a large network of followers on Twitter, to make full use of Tweeting.

"I know first-hand from my own research, when I tweet out an eBay item I can expect between 17 to 150 visitors to my item," Ms Crawford said.

Suggested items to share include recent purchases, interesting auctions, charity listings, great deals and fellow sellers.

One of the items for sale on eBay that people may have been sharing on Twitter is a TVR Cerbera that used to belong to David Beckham, which came up for sale on the site recently.
