eBay has joined the Loss Prevention Foundation.eBay is taking on the problem of online retail fraud in an effort to reduce the number customers who don't receive the parcel delivery they had paid for.The online marketplace has joined the Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF) as a doctorate level partner.Loss prevention (LP) is a form of private investigation that retailers undertake, usually focused on things such as package pilferage, embezzlement, credit card fraud and cheque fraud.LPF scholarship partners are crucial to continuing the foundation's mission of education through certification programmes such as the LPQualified and LPCertified, explained LPF president Gene Smith.He said: "eBay is demonstrating its commitment to the loss prevention industry by sponsoring the foundation at the highest level"This level of investment is an illustration of eBay's increasing dedication to establishing a valuable relationship with retailers."Founded in 2006 by leading industry professionals, the LPF is geared to serving the loss prevention industry by offering a programme of education.Posted by Laura RathboneArticle Added: 03/08/2010 09:48:09
