eBay sellers urged to consider strikes

People need to consider the London postal strikes when selling through eBay, it has been claimedPeople who are selling goods on eBay should take into account the current postal strikes in London, an expert has warned.

Anyone who has sold goods via eBay in the past few days should ensure they take note of the current postal strikes in London, it has been claimed.

Chris Dawson, of online retail advice site Tamebay, has claimed that the industrial action by members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) may impact on their ability to make parcel deliveries in the short term.

Writing on the website, he called on firms to notify customers of any problems with deliveries.

He added: "Expect a minimum of two to three days delay for mail in London, but the ongoing effect will probably be to slow mail down for most of the next week as the back log is cleared."

The CWU has confirmed that the strike action is being taken over plans for the future of Royal Mail, while it also claimed that the organisation turned down a deal over discussions for modernisation.
