The way for a small eBay seller to compete is to find its niche, it is claimed.Small eBay sellers and businesses that rely on parcel delivery services to ship their goods need to find some way of making themselves different from the larger sellers, it has been claimed. Writing on AuctionBytes, e-commerce manager for online diamond sellers CaratsDirect2U Ina Steiner believes that there many ways for a smaller eBay operation to compete with the Power Sellers. Steiner points out small-time enterprises can face a challenge with bigger rivals enjoying "substantial" discounts with the Power Seller programme and the increased exposure given to top-rated sellers. However, using the diamond market as an example, Steiner says that these small firms often have much to offer, such as being able to show pictures of actual products and offering a 30-day returns policy as they own their own stock. The comments come after an article on Bytestart.co.uk said eBay success could be found by specialising in a niche market. Posted by Tom Sands Article Added: 10/08/2010 09:55:52
