Lorrie Norrington has stepped down from her role as president of eBay Marketplaces.Fans of a parcel delivery from eBay have been told that one of the key players at the head of its Markeplaces unit is stepping down. eBay announced yesterday (September 21st) that Lorrie Norrington is leaving the company because of family reasons. Ms Norrington took over eBay Marketplaces in 2008 and has overseen some important changes to the auction platform. Benefits such as free parcel delivery have "increased dramatically" in the last two years, the company said. In addition it is now easier for buyers to rate sellers, while for people selling upfront costs are much lower now than when she took over. eBay president and chief executive officer John Donahoe praised Ms Donnington for leading Marketplaces through a period of "significant fundamental change". "Lorrie made a decision to do what's best for eBay and for her family, and I respect that," he added. The news comes just days after eBay announced a new business development team at Marketplaces.
