eBay may be changing the way sellers send parcel deliveries. The way that at parcel delivery is organised for an eBay purchase has traditionally been left up to the seller. However, according to AuctionBytes.com editor Ina Steiner, eBay is considering radically overhauling the system and bringing in a fulfilment service instead. The system would operate by centralising inventory from sellers at a centre that would pack and send items when ordered.eBay is currently just surveying sellers at the moment, asking them about shipping costs, carriers and the amount of time and money spent on parcel delivery.Ms Steiner suggests that eBay is conducting the survey because of pressure from Wall Street to offer fulfilment services akin to Amazon. The news comes after itbusiness.ca's Nestor Arellano said that getting the right parcel delivery firm is vital for an eBay seller, because slow and pricey delivery "is always a downer".Posted by Rob Elliott Article Added: 16/08/2010 17:00:14
