Ebay launches iPhone selling app

New eBay app for iPhone is launchedPeople running eBay businesses can manage their accounts on-the-move, after the online marketplace unveiled a new selling app.

EBay sellers will be able to organise their parcel delivery and courier services from anywhere in the UK or abroad on their mobile phone after the auction website launched a new selling application (app) for iPhones.

The eBay Selling app, building on the success of its buying app, uses the firm's RedLaser technology to allow users to scan barcodes and easily create listings on their account.

Users in the UK, US and Germany can download the app for free from the Apple iTunes App Store.

At the same time the firm is launching an app for iPads, which has been translated into French, German, Spanish and Italian.

Steve Yankovich, vice-president of mobile at eBay, commented: "With our mobile applications, we are reducing the friction with commerce. We are enabling eBay users around the world to window shop through the iPad and sell in seconds on the iPhone."

The new app comes hot on heels of eBay's acquisition of RedLaser and all the associated technology from Occipital.
