eBay launches fashion app

eBay launches fashion app A new iPhone app from eBay targets fashion buying.

A new app to make buying clothes and arranging a parcel delivery online has been launched by eBay.

The online marketplace's new Fashion app for the iPhone and iPod Touch will allow users to browse new and used clothes from a huge array of designers online.

eBay's app comes with a range of features designed to make shopping easier by customising the experience including a virtual personalised closet and an outfit builder that means shoppers can see how items fit together as an outfit.

"With eBay's Fashion app, we've created a unique shopping experience that consumers cannot get in front of a desktop computer, or even in a bricks-and-mortar store," commented Steve Yankovich, vice president of mobile platform at eBay.

"Shoppers can browse the millions of clothing items on eBay's 'racks' and build outfits to share with friends."

This is the latest step eBay has made in the mobile commerce field as it expects to generate around $1.5 billion (£1 billion) from the sector in 2010.

eBay recently launched its Selling app to make it easier for users to keep track of their goods for sale and parcel deliveries from their iPhones.
