eBay plans to drive fashion sales with new ad campaign.
eBay is encouraging shoppers to buy their clothes from its Fashion Outlet with a new advertising campaign in the lead up to Christmas.
The online auction is particularly targeting women, with adverts appearing in a range of women's magazines such as Vogue, Look, Grazia, OK! and Elle.
Shoppers can already order a parcel delivery of top designer gear straight from the brand makers thanks to the Fashion Outlet, which launches earlier this year.
The Guardian reports that the retailers using this facility, which includes the likes of Karen Millen, Ted Baker, Superdry and Office, have generated around £4 million in sales so far.
Angus McCarey, director of eBay enterprise, said: "The Fashion Outlet is our fastest growing sales channel and this advertising assault reflects our growing position as a leading fashion destination.
There has been a 25 per cent increase in the number of consumers who are choosing to shop online at eBay instead of the high street, he added.
eBay recently launched an app for iPhones to make buying fashion items more interactive.
