eBay hosts celebrity Twitter charity auction

eBay hosts celebrity Twitter charity auctioneBay is inviting users to become friends with celebrities on Twitter for charity.

Fans of eBay who are more used to receiving a parcel delivery of goods they have bought from the site now have another way to part with their cash.

The online auction site is teaming up with Twitter to invite people to bid to become tweeting pals with top celebrities, all in the name of charity.

Victims of the Haiti earthquake are to be helped, in particular money will directly go to rebuild the Miriam Center, a home for special-needs children.

Winners will have their favourite star follow them on Twitter for 90 days and will even have one of their own tweets posted on the celebrity's account.

The auction has been running since last week and ends this Saturday (September 25th).

Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine and the rapper Snoop Dog are among those taking part.

Recently, another eBay charity auction saw the makers of Mad Men sell off props and costumes from the hit TV show to help a lung cancer charity in California.
