Former city lawyer stands to make a million on eBay this year.
A former city lawyer that gave up his high-flying job has now found a new lucrative passion selling odds and ends on eBay.
Anthony Ponsford's associates are now parcel delivery firms, rather than corporate law partners, although shunning the rat race appears to have paid off for the 40-year-old.
The online 'Del Boy' is set to see his company, Piranha Trading, make its first £1 million this year, having made his money by selling whatever items he believes will turn a profit, such as cat scratching posts and digital camera memory cards.
Mr Ponsford said: "I often joke to people that I've basically set up an online version of Trotters Independent Traders."
However, it's been far from an easy job, and has taken lots of perseverance.
"It started out, as many things do, as a very small enterprise turning over a very marginal profit for quite some time," he explained.
Figures released by eBay last week suggested that the number of companies trading on the ecommerce site set to post a turnover of at least £1 million has nearly doubled this year.
