eBay's new fashion chief thinks e-commerce can fit round people's lives.

Ordering a parcel delivery of clothes from eBay can be the ideal way to fit shopping around a busy lifestyle, it has been claimed.

That is the view of eBay's new fashion chief Miriam Lahage, who reckons the online auction site is uniquely positioned to offer more than traditional retailers.

She explained that old-fashioned retailers do not have the opportunity to work with individual entrepreneurs, designers and other retailers the way eBay does.

"eBay can put the world of fashion at your fingertips, regardless of who you are and where you live. No other channel can offer that. It is the most open accessible way to buy fashion in the world," Ms Lahage commented.

She added that people are becoming more comfortable about buying clothes online and enjoy the fact they can "fit shopping into their lifestyle, rather than having to fit their lifestyle around shopping".

The Daily Mail recently reported that sales of designer wear on eBay are increasing thanks to the economic downturn.
