A leading parcel delivery firm is to unveil a new enhanced version of its medical transport services.

Courier firm DHL Express has announced plans to launch an enhanced version of its medical equipment and supplies services.

DHL Medical Express was created to ensure the timely arrival of clinical supplies, specimens and medicines to hospitals and other medical centres.

It is hoped the new version of the service will meet the demands of consumers and expand the courier firm's position in the sector.

Roland Thomas, vice-president of product development for DHL Express, said: "We have an experienced team of experts and dedicated personnel operating in more countries than before who are supporting DHL Medical Express.

"Each team has a zero-default target and pro-actively solves shipment delays, regulatory and cultural issues, to ensure fast, reliable and efficient logistics for clinical trials programs."

DHL's Global Mail division recently announced that it has reduced its transit times for international mail.
