Post office services in a village shop in Cumbria have been closed, according to a report.A village shop in Cumbria is no longer operating post office services, it has been confirmed.According to a report in the Cumberland News, the outlet in Gilsland has been replaced with an outreach service that will run for nine hours a week at the village hall.The move, which could see a number of people seek post office alternatives, has made postmistress Elsie McLaughlin concerned for the future of the village shop.She explained: "The shop and post office went hand-in-hand with one another and made it viable.
