A post office in Cullen could be closed as its owner is planning an early retirement, according to reports.Residents in Cullen may have to seek parcel delivery alternatives after it was revealed the local post office is to be sold.The owner of the shop, Roger Senior, has decided to go into early retirement and has claimed the building could be suitable for a major retail or housing conversion which means the post office could be closed.According to the Press and Journal, local people including councillor Ron Shepherd are concerned over the impact that the move may have on the community."It is a very busy little place and a good meeting point for the pensioners," he explained."The people of Cullen will definitely miss it, but I would be advocating getting somewhere else in Cullen to take it on if it was going to close."Post office services across the UK could be disrupted tomorrow (July 17th) as staff at a number of Royal Mail sites are planning to strike.Article Added: 16/07/2009 09:30:13
