Councillor calls for postal improvements in Dundee

Royal Mail has been asked by a councillor in Dundee to improve its postal services in the town.

Dundee West representative Fraser Macpherson has claimed he has received a number of complaints about the issue from residents, who have recently experienced problems receiving post.

According to the Dundee Evening Telegraph and Post, some people have faced three-week long delays which may have encouraged them to seek alternative parcel delivery services.

Despite claims from Royal Mail that its services are on target in the area, Mr Macpherson said: "The problem needs to be sorted."

He added that constituents should not "lose out" because of the organisation's current dispute over working practices with the Communication Workers Union (CWU) and its proposed part-privatisation.

The CWU recently reaffirmed its stance on the issues, claiming that the best way to improve Royal Mail is to do it in the domain of the public sector.ADNFCR-2348-ID-19212499-ADNFCR
