New research has suggested that consumers are increasingly heading online to find great value.Consumers across the UK are increasingly using the web to seek out bargains available through online retail channels, it has been suggested. New research by Google has found that there has been a drop in searches such as "luxury goods" and "Rolex watches", while people are increasingly looking for voucher codes or discounts online, reports the Daily Telegraph. In addition, it was revealed that broadband users spend 33 hours a month online, which suggests the number choosing to use online retail, as well as parcel delivery services, could be high. Matt Brittin, managing director of Google UK, told the newspaper: "Consumer behaviour is changing rapidly as a result of increasing internet access and faster broadband speeds in the UK. "This change in behaviour is accelerating in the recession." Recent figures from Just Retirement found that 65 per cent of over-50s now use online shopping websites.Article Added: 25/08/2009 16:18:12
