A new means of ordering goods online directly from a TV advert is likely to make a big impact on the home delivery market.
When an ad is shown, a viewer can use the system developed by Zeebox.com to immediately order the goods being offered through a smartphone or tablet computer.
Zeebox's system will display a 'click to buy' button on the viewer's device which, when clicked, will take them through to either an online store selling the device, or the product manufacturer's website, from where they can get more information.
Delivery will then be arranged as normal through the supplier's regular channels.
Zeebox co-founder Anthony Rose described the system as the "holy grail" for TV advertisers, and added: "Previous attempts to deliver this via red button and similar services have suffered from a lack of web integration.
"Consumers get the convenience of being able to react instantly to a TV advert, while brands benefit from shortening the distance between ad impression and product purchase."
