The head of leading courier services firm City Link has resigned from his position, according to reports.

Rentokil Initial has announced that the head of its parcel delivery subsidiary City Link has resigned from his position.

Petar Cvetkovic, who is managing director at Rentokil, is expected to leave the post from the start of September as efforts continue to restructure the courier services firm in light of recent financial losses.

News of the move is believed to have come via an internal memo sent to staff at the company, while it is thought that Mr Cvetkovic - who took up the role in February last year - already has another position lined up.

The statement is thought to have claimed he is leaving to "pursue other interests", with Stuart Godman taking over.

Details about the resignation come after City Link's Bicester depot confirmed it has won a new contract with Hemel Hempstead-based Bio-Rad Laboratories UK worth over £360,000 a year.
