Cisco SocialMiner set to change business interaction with social media.A new tool to help parcel delivery firms and other companies track and respond to what is going on the worlds of Facebook and Twitter has been launched.Computing giant Cisco has unveiled its SocialMiner software, which promises to allow firms to find and engage with current and prospective customers who are communicating through social media sites, public forums and blogging sites. There should be no shortage of people to respond to - analyst firm Nielsen says one in every five tweets mentions a brand and a third (34 per cent) of online Americans have used the likes of Facebook or Twitter to talk about a product."Companies are realising that by ignoring the online chatter, they're opening up opportunities for their competitors and allowing dialogue about their brand to happen without them," said John Hernandez, vice-president and general manager for Cisco's Customer Collaboration business unit.Gartner recently said all business applications will be optimised for social media by 2016, indicating the growing importance of Web 2.0 technology to courier delivery companies.Posted by Tom Sands Article Added: 04/11/2010 16:24:13
