Blackburn residents furious at dumped letters

Residents are furious at the findLocals find a Royal Mail bag containing hundreds of letters dumped in a bush.

Residents in the Beardwood area of Blackburn were furious to discover a sack of mail dumped in a bush, those requiring parcel delivery services will be interested to learn.

On Sunday, locals in Whinfield Place found a black bin liner containing a red Royal Mail bag with hundreds of letters inside, the Lancashire Telegraph reports.

The Royal Mail and the police were informed of the find and eventually collected the bag at 20:00 GMT the same day.

One resident was furious that such a thing had happened and hit out at what he saw as an unacceptable practice from an organisation which people should be able to trust.

"I am absolutely disgusted. This is quite frightening and someone should lose their job over this. In that discarded bag of mail I saw my Barclaycard bill. I'm extremely annoyed. Is this the new Royal Mail standard of delivery?" the man told the newspaper.

Meanwhile, Mayor Vivienne Ash recently criticised Honiton Post Office for not meeting the needs of local residents, the North Devon Gazette reported.
