There can be many advantages to using bespoke social media, it is claimed.
Parcel delivery firms wanting to test out new concepts and business innovations may want to consider bespoke social media.
According to Doron Meyassed, managing director of Promise Communities, the bespoke social media environment - where a company or organisation can control the settings and is invited in - can be a very useful tool for market research.
Speaking at the online branding and social media workshop hosted by the Internet Advertising Bureau, he said: "You might be launching a new innovation and using Facebook you find 1,000 people who think it is amazing, but who are these 1,000 people? Can they even afford your product?"
In the bespoke environment, however, he went on to explain that the firm has permission to set the agenda.
"The overarching advantage of it is you get the business to accept a methodology that they are willing to base business decisions on," Mr Meyassed added.
