A strange-shaped aubergine may end up on eBay.

Receiving an aubergine in a parcel delivery may be one of the more unusual eBay purchases that anyone could make, but it seems one man may be prepared to sell his strange-looking vegetable online

John Neilan, a grandfather from Hampshire, was amazed to find in his Sainsbury's shopping an aubergine with a three-inch long nose protruding from near the top of the item, the Daily Telegraph has reported.

The newspaper, which points out the vegetable looks "uncannily" like Mr Nosey from the Mr Men series of books, said Mr Neilan and his wife Carole were astonished when they saw it.

"We both had a bit of a giggle. I had originally intended to cook it but I've decided to keep it in the fridge for a little while," Mr Neilan said.

"I may even sell it on eBay - somebody might collect bizarre-looking vegetables."

While it may not be possible to get hold of a funny-shaped aubergine just yet, eBay does sell a huge range of vegetable seeds online for people to try growing their own.
