International parcel deliveries may take longer due to volcanic ash
A small number of parcel deliveries previously affected by airspace closures may still
experience minor delays.
Richard Adams-Mercer, business development director at Parcel2Go.com, said, “Our
international couriers are continuing to do their utmost to provide the best service to
Parcel2Go.com customers and to ensure packages reach their final destinations as
rapidly as possible.
“Shipments picked up this week are expected to be delivered in accordance with normal
delivery schedules. A small number of parcels previously affected by the flight lockdown
will be delivered as soon as possible.”
Parcel carriers have returned to their normal schedules following the Icelandic volcano
disruption to air operations. European flights resumed last week and intercontinental
services to Asia, the US and Middle East/Africa have been gradually stepped up and
have now returned to a full flight schedule.
