Parcel2Go.com wins top business accolade
Bolton-based delivery firm Parcel2Go.com has carried off a prestigious national
business award.
Parcel2Go.com bosses received the Fast Growth Business Awards “Online Business of
the Year” accolade at a ceremony in London.
The Fast Growth Business Awards celebrate the best of the UK’s most ambitious businesses
and recognise performance across sectors including innovation, green initiatives
and best use of technology.
The judges were impressed with the parcel firm’s consistently strong growth. Turnover
this financial year is expected to be around £16m, up from £11.5m, and the business
takes more than 100,000 orders a month.
The Fast Growth Business Awards have a track record of identifying businesses on
the cusp of the big time. Parcel2Go.com’s win puts the online parcel delivery firm
in distinguished company - Maximuscle, Multimap, LOVEFiLM and King of Shaves are
all previous winners.
Parcel2Go.com was founded in 2000 by Fil Adams-Mercer, who recently appeared on
TV as The Secret Millionaire, his son Richard and business partner Steve Kramer.
The company is based in a former textile mill and employs 40 staff.
Parcel2Go.com, Britain's biggest independent online parcel delivery company, operates
through passing on the savings of long term contracts and bulk space purchases with
established couriers such as FedEx, DHL, HDNL and City Link, thus offering a cost-effective
courier service to small and medium enterprises and residential customers.
Parcel2Go.com is popular with people using the online trading site eBay, as parcels
are collected directly from sellers' homes and delivered anywhere in the world.
Founder Fil Adams-Mercer commented, “We are thrilled to receive this national honour.
Our business is going from strength to strength as more and more users opt for the
cost savings and convenience of our online delivery service. The team has worked
incredibly hard to get us where we are now and I am delighted to see their efforts
recognised in this way.”
