Parcel2Go.com CEO is Channel 4’s next Secret Millionaire
Millions of TV viewers are expected to tune in today to watch Bolton entrepreneur
Fil Adams-Mercer feature in the next episode of Channel 4’s The Secret Millionaire.
The Secret Millionaire, in which millionaire benefactors say goodbye to their luxury
lifestyles and go undercover in deprived areas to find out who needs their help,
returns to our screens Monday 22nd March (Channel 4, 9pm). The programme features
Parcel2Go.com’s Fil Adams-Mercer, who puts his success down to a strong work ethic.
As part of the popular show, camera crews follow Fil as he travels over the Pennines
to Doncaster, where he goes undercover to find people who might need his help, reassessing
his opinions about unemployment along the way.
Taking part in The Secret Millionaire can be a life-changing experience for everyone
involved. Quite often, the millionaires who take part are as profoundly affected
by their participation in the series as those they have donated money to.
Fil will be seen giving away cash to charities in Doncaster.
Various good causes have featured in this year's The Secret Millionaire, including
Refugee Action, an independent national charity that works with refugees to build
new lives in the UK, the Huntingdon's Disease Association and the Wild Goose Cafe,
which is run in conjunction with Crisis Centre Ministries and is a coffee shop providing
hot meals for the homeless and hidden poor in Bristol.
Fil set up Parcel2Go.com in 2000 with son Richard and colleague Steve Kramer, following
the successful sale of a video rental business to Blockbuster. The firm has grown
into one of the largest online parcel delivery companies in the UK.
